About me

I am a huge horror film buff, particularly the ones made by Universal Studios in the 30's and 40's, Val Lewton for RKO, and Hammer films, but I also enjoy the Italian horror films by the likes of Argento, Fulci, and Bava (Mario and sometimes Lamberto). Aside from horror, I really like blaxploitation, Spaghetti westerns, B movies, Japanese monster movies, and anything by David Lynch. My favorite movie is the Bride of Frankenstein.

"It's sad that the werewolf, my favorite horror archetype of them all, has been so mistreated on film. There are maybe only about 15 decent werewolf movies in the entire subgenre."

Thanks for the vote and comment! Yeah, I fully agree with your thoughts on the Halloween-series. While I do like Halloween 4, I wish that the series as a whole became something different.

Thanks for voting and commenting. I guess, I don't really hate Nightmare before Christmas either, but it annoys me. I actually like Burton's Alice in Wonderland :D But I know I'm kind of alone on that one.

You know how I said on your zombie list that I needed to make my own? Well, I have made the list of my favorite zombie movies, which in turn led me to create a companion list of my favorite "zombie" movies. Check them out when you can, and I thank you for giving me the final push to put them together. :)

Hope you have a good weekend!

Awesome. I knew you'd love it since you're into the early horror. I thought it was brilliantly done too & you're right about the opening looking exactly like the original film. I came across that on Jeffrey Combs' website (he plays the cameraman in the Wolf Man transformation scene) & it's definitely the best discovery I've made lately.

Also, thanks for the vote & comments on my Stop ruining my childhood list! All the films you mentioned are certainly worthy of inclusion & I've successfully managed to avoid them due to my awareness of their terribleness. Now that there's a sequel to the Clash of the Titans remake I may have to add that to my list. After all, what's more pointless than a sequel to a remake of a film that had NO SEQUELS?
Posted: 12 years, 8 months ago at Mar 20 3:28
Dude, if you haven't watched this short film then you need to. Feel free to stop by & say thanks afterwards. :)

Hope you had a good weekend!

Were you being serious about editing the universal horrors list? I wouldn't mind doing it. I didn't mean to come off as rude or a know it all in my comment btw.

No, you didn't come across that way. ;] You're officially an editor now! Edit at your convenience.
Posted: 12 years, 8 months ago at Mar 18 1:29
Would you like to be made an editor of Universal Horror? You can add missing movies and pictures for the list. Just let me know and I'll call a guy who knows a guy who once had fondue with a guy. =]

Let's see... You voted on Daimajin, Toho Company, Ltd., Greatest Giant Monsters/Robots, Gamera, and Universal Horror...!

And I thank you.

Agreed about Karloff walking through some of his roles. As much as I love him in the Frankenstein films & some others it's disappointing to see him in films where he looks like he'd rather be somewhere else or simply isn't trying. Price, on the other hand, always gave it his best even when the script was terrible.

Hope you had a good weekend!
